Trip to Utah

I took a quick trip to Utah this last weekend to visit some of my friends and family and it was wonderful! Taylor and I and a friend from church who drove with us left at about 7 am on Thursday and arrived in Salt Lake by 2:30 in the afternoon. Taylor was pretty good- I was worried she would be really mad about being in her car seat but she did pretty well. Coincidentally my dad happened to be in Utah for a few hours when I was there. He was there to meet up with an old friend from high school and then they went to Moab to go hiking and biking around Arches National Park. So, we met up at his parents' apartment in Bountiful. It was good to see my dad and for him to see Taylor again although I am sure my mom was jealous when he told her! After visiting with my grandparents I drove out to my other Grandma's house in Erda. None of my grandparents had met Taylor until this trip. My cousin Heide arrived at my Grandma's house on Friday morning and our babies met! They were so cute playing together. Taylor just wanted to eat Asher's hands and touch his face! She is 6 weeks older than he is so she noticed him more than he noticed her.

Friday afternoon we packed everyone up and drove into SLC to the U to take my grandma to an eye appointment at the Moran Eye Center. A few people asked us if Taylor and Asher were twins because they are so close to the same size. I attempted to use my Hooter Hider to nurse her in the waiting room. Boy that was an adventure. Taylor does NOT like to have her head covered up and I think that even WITH the cover I probably flashed 1/2 of the waiting room. Oh well. We took my grandma back to Erda and then headed back into Salt Lake to go to my sister and her husband's house for her birthday. Our cousin Kelly also came over with a delicious carrot cake she made to celebrate the occasion!

Saturday morning Heide, Asher, Taylor, my grandma and I all hung out at my Grandma's house and Marisa and Kelly came out on Saturday afternoon. Marisa brought her guitar so she and Heide and I had a music fest! Taylor and Asher LOVED the music! Saturday night I met 3 of my old roommates from BYU for dinner. It was so much fun to see my girls! Lisa, Candice and I all had babies in the last 4 months. Lisa's son, Ammon, is 2 weeks older than Taylor and Candice's baby girl Cienna is 5 weeks old. When I uploaded my pictures I noticed I didn't get any pictures of that little angel! She was sleeping the entire time we were at dinner. We left on Sunday morning to drive back to Colorado so the trip was short, but wonderful!

A Bumbo Seat, a Bumbo Seat! We got the Bibbins a Bumbo Seat!

It has been cold and rainy here the last 2 days and I turned the heat on at about 6:00 this morning because I was FREEZING! It was 64 degrees in our house! Taylor has been taking Amoxicillin for her ear infection and seems to be feeling better but last night she was awake at 2:15 and didn't want to go back to sleep. She just laid in her co-sleeper and babbled away. So I tried to nurse her but she would take about 2 sips and pull off and babble some more. She finally fell back to sleep at about 4:30 but was back awake by 6:00. The little stinker! She seems to be having trouble breathing so I am worried about her. I took her to the doctor on Monday and she listened to Taylor's lungs and doesn't think she has RSV because her lungs sound pretty clear but when I listen to her sleep she sounds a little wheezy. I am worried she has inherited my asthma and allergies although my asthma didn't start until I was 7-years-old. I kept her home from church today to let her get some sleep. She slept for 3 hours on and off while Joel was at church. I figure I pretty much spend all of church in the mother's lounge anyway I might as well let her get caught up on some rest. When I went in to pick her up from her nap she had rolled over! I am not sure if it was just a fluke or not... we shall see!

Last night Joel and I went to Once Upon a Child and I am HOOKED! We went there to get her a Bumbo Seat and found one used (but you can't even tell) for $25.00. We put her in it in the store and couldn't stop laughing. She loves to sit up and see what is going on so it's PERFECT for her. I also found some screaming deals on clothes too. I found a brand new fall/spring coat for her from Gymboree with the tags still on for $9.50. If I had gotten it from Gymboree I am sure it would have been $50 or more. I also found some sleepers and this super cute fleece suit that also had the tags still on for $5.00! It is 9 month size, but that's OK because (mom if you can believe this) with all of the clothes she has, she doesn't have a ton of 9 month-ish size things so it will be perfect for February/March/April when it is still cold.

And, one last thing.... to all of my Utah friends I am thinking of making a really quick trip to Utah this weekend. My cousin Heide, who is as close as a sister to me, is going to be there with her baby boy and since she lives in CA I never get to see her and she hasn't met Taylor yet and I have not met Asher yet either. Plus, it's her birthday and my sister's birthday so I could be with both of them on those days. Aside from that, my grandpa Bedell is pretty sick and I don't know how much longer he will be around. I want him to meet Taylor and I am not sure when else I will be able to make it out. I was thinking of coming to Utah for Thanksgiving but Joel has to work and my sister and her husband will be in Idaho with his family and my mom is worried about me driving alone with Taylor in November. I just have to see if I can reschedule Taylor's 4 month appointment which is supposed to be on Friday and see if I can get off of work on Thursday. Keep your fingers crossed!

Bad Annie & baby update

SO I have been a bad blog updater lately and I feel bad that my baby girl changes so fast and I haven't been posting pictures for her grandmas and grandpas to see! What's even worse is until Friday I hadn't taken any pictures for 2 weeks. Taylor and I both came down with pretty bad colds a couple weeks ago and she hasn't fully recovered yet. She is still stuffed up and for the last few nights she has been sleeping horribly. I think she was awake every half an hour until about 3 am when I finally put some saline drops in her nose and gave her some infants' Tylenol cold. Poor baby. So I took her to the doctor today and she has an ear infection. I wish I could have just gone home from work and rested with her. She doesn't nap very well at daycare because she wants to be up watching what all of the older kids are doing. Last week I think she napped a total (ALL 4 DAYS) of 2 hours! So anyway, here are some new pictures of her doing cute things. She has started to grab things and is trying really hard to sit up and roll over. The other night I went upstairs and Joel had given her a rattle and she was holding it and shaking it around. Of course, we think that every new thing she does is so adorable!

Friday is my favorite day

I work 4- 10 hour days so every Friday I get to spend all day with my baby girl! She has been laughing and smiling a lot lately. When she is at daycare during the week, I feel like I miss her happiest times, so on Fridays I just want to play with her all day! Today I caught a little of her cuteness on camera. She has been into sucking her fingers lately as evidenced by the last picture. Could she get any cuter???

Back at work

I just finished my 2nd day back at work and I am doing pretty well. I think I did most of my crying last week because I only cried a little bit yesterday and not at all today. I do feel like my arms are empty and I miss my baby girl but I am going home now to see her and kiss kiss kiss her little cheeks! I will try to post some more pictures soon!

"It's the end of the summer when you send your children to the moon..."

Monday is D-day- day of dread. After 12 weeks off and 11 weeks with my precious baby girl I have to go back to work. I have been crying a lot today. My poor friend Lori called me and I bawled in her ear about how I don't want to leave my baby. I keep telling myself that moms who work do it all the time and their babies are fine. Almost all of my friends at work have children and they leave them every day. I guess I just never knew how hard it would be until I held Taylor in my arms and knew I never wanted to miss one second of her life. She is getting to be so much fun as of late. She has been babbling and is smiling all the time. There is nothing in the world that can compare to seeing her smile. I love, love, LOVE that she reacts to my voice and she knows her mommy. I don't want her to think someone else is her mommy. I feel great about the woman I am leaving her with- I have no doubt that she will feel loved and comfortable and will be taken care of but it just kills me that I am going to miss 45 hours a week of her life. I ran into one of my friends from work on Saturday night at Sam's club. His wife had a baby about 2 weeks after I had Taylor. He asked me when I had to go back to work and I told him September 10th and that I was dreading it. He said his wife was dreading going back to work too and that mommies should be with their babies. Mommies SHOULD be with their babies. Joel and I knew when we decided to have a baby that our choices were to wait until Joel was done with school to start our family or to start our family now and have to put our baby in daycare for at least a year until he finished school. We obviously chose to start our family. Like I said, I don't think I knew how hard it was going to be. I feel like I am sending my baby to the moon and like I am going to Jupiter. Hopefully she will be happy on the moon and I will readjust to life on Jupiter.

Babies belong in sacks

I have always thought babies look so cute in little sleep sacks! My mom, knowing this, bought Taylor a couple of sleep sacks and brought them out when she came to Colorado for Taylor's birth. They are starting to fit her now. Look how cute she is!
