Baby

Yes, a baby. A baby boy or girl remains a mystery as the little one didn't want to show us its goods during my ultrasound today. I know, I know, I shouldn't be disappointed since everything else looked good (well, as far as we could tell, the radiologist has to do his report and send it to my doctor), but doesn't this baby know that I HATE surprises?? Growing up I always snooped for Christmas presents and found the snooping even more fun than opening the presents on Christmas day. I guess that this little Christmas present will have to wait!!

We just got home from a nice visit to Vermont last night so stay tuned for forthcoming pictures... sometime in the next week or so whenever I have some time to post again.

Summertime fun

We've had a fun and busy summer this year- I know I've been a terrible blog updater but between working full time, dealing with morning sickness, trying to keep up with a VERY active 2-year-old, and trying to keep up on laundry, dishes, cooking, cleaning, etc. I haven't had much time left to blog. Our little monkey keeps us very busy- I know that she's just being a 2-year-old but she can be SO NAUGHTY! She has selective listening and is quite opinionated. She definitely knows what she wants and doesn't want. Most of the time she is a little sweetheart though. I miss her when I am away from her! She is usually such a happy little bug.

Here are a few pictures from the last month or so...

She loves to get herself dressed. One morning she went into our closet and took one of Joel's shirts and put it on. She was so proud of herself.




We went to Motherhood to get a few new maternity things for me and she HAD to have this monkey. Well, I told her she could hold him but we weren't buying him. I'm a sucker because she was really good while we were shopping and she fell in love with the monkey.... so, we ended up bringing him home. He is her FAVORITE toy- she can't go anywhere without her monkey.




Here she is running- what she does about 90% of the time she is awake. You will notice that she is wearing her "unders" as she calls them. Yes, we are working on potty training.... so exciting.



Here she is watching "Sesame Street" and snuggling her monkey. Once and while she actually stops moving.

Last Friday was her best friend Morgan's birthday. Stacey took the kids to City Park Pool and since I am off on Fridays, we met everyone there. Cherie, Morgan's mom, brought cupcakes for all of the kiddos to decorate. It was so much fun for them!! And the best part was after they got all messy from the frosting, they just jumped in the pool and washed all of the stickiness away. Morgan and Taylor were the babies at daycare for so long and now they are both 2! Time flies. Kids grow up way too fast I'm afraid.

And, unfortunately she's been a little sick. Every time she gets a cold, she develops a cough that won't go away. Last time this happened was in May, and when Joel took her to the doctor, they sent us home with a nebulizer. So, here she is taking her medicine.... poor girl. We ended up taking her back to Urgent Care yesterday because the cough isn't getting better. The doctor we saw put her on Prednisone for a few days and suspects that she has asthma. It runs in my family so I'm not suprized.

We're flying to Vermont in a few days to visit our family and we're SO excited!!! Wish us luck on the airplane. It's always interesting with small children.

19 weeks

OK, is it just me, or do you pop out a lot sooner with your 2nd pregnancy than with your 1st?? This is a hid-e-ous photo of me, but seriously, you get the idea of the belly...

I have a lot more to post if I ever get time. Someone in our family is potty training and thinks it's a good idea to take off her clothes during nap time and pee all over her bedding. Hmmm.... who could it be? Hopefully I'll have some time to post this week.
