My growing baby boy

Since I am the worst blog updater on the planet here's a quick update on weeks 7-11 with pictures...

Jacob is growing up and getting bigger all the time. At his 8 week check up he was 10 lbs 3 oz which put him in the 19% for weight and the 45% for height. The doctor was a little worried because his height/weight ratio puts him in the 1%, but I assured her that he eats all the time! He is a little chow hound, but he kicks it all off! He is constantly wiggling and kicking.

My parents and my brother David came out for Jacob's baby blessing which we did at our house

I went back to work and apparently was too frazzled to take any pictures.

Hopefully I'll have a few minutes sometime soon post a few pictures and video I took of him kicking in the bathtub this week. We love this boy more and more and more all the time. He's such a good baby. He had a stomach virus over the weekend and was throwing up and I know he was miserable but he was still pretty happy. We feel so blessed to have him as a part of our family!

Mon petit artiste

Taylor LOVES to color. She loves to color with her markers, her crayons, pens, and her bathtub markers (see above). It's usually a good thing but lately she's been sort of mischievous. Who am I kidding- she's always mischievous. A couple of weeks ago I was downstairs nursing Jacob and she went upstairs. She was being really quiet which is never a good sign so I called up to her and asked her what she was doing. This was our conversation:

Me: "Taylor, what are you doing?"
Taylor: "Nothing!"
Me: "No, you're doing something- what are you doing?"
Taylor: "Nothing!"

So I went upstairs to find this:

Taylor had gotten into my makeup and smeared and ENTIRE container of cream blush ALL over her face and painted with it all over the walls and the bathtub. It was SO naughty but I was also laughing a little bit inside. Joel came home as I was cleaning up and Taylor went downstairs to tell him when she had done. She said, "Daddy, I got into Mommy's makeup and Mommy said, 'Taylor Merrill that is very naughty!'"

How I love this little mischievous monkey!

Silly girl

Tonight I was giving Taylor a bath and she wanted to wash her hair with a little vial of shampoo that my parents left here. I explained to her that kids have special shampoo that is safe for their eyes but adults, like grandmas and grandpas and aunts and uncles and mommies and daddies, use adult shampoo that would sting her eyes if it got into them. She looked at me and asked, "Are there bees in it?"
