For all you moms out there...

One of my friends posted this on her Facebook page and I quite enjoyed it- not that any of my friends without kids would ever be so ingnorant! (Click on the image to enlarge it.)

Joel and I sent Taylor to daycare on Friday while we stayed home and cleaned out our basement. Romantic, I know, but it needed to be done. We really want to refinish our basement so we went through tons of boxes and cleaned and cleaned and made a huge pile of junk to haul to the dump. In one of my boxes from storage I found some of my old teddy bears and an old cell phone. Perfect "new" toys for Taylor. She LOOOOOVES this teddy bear (pictured) that I found. She came home and was so excited. She kept saying, "Two new teddies!"

I have been disenchanted with my ugly hair for quite some time now so I decided to get it all chopped off. The girl who cut it did a good job on the haircut but it's about 1 1/2 inches shorter than I wanted it to be. Oh well, like my mom always says- the good thing about hair is that it always grows back! I HATED it at first but now I am starting to like it. I told my mom I'd post some pictures. I think I need some highlights or something. Ever since being pregnant I just feel like my hair is so dark and U-G-L-Y.
And I tried to drag Taylor in for some pictures since photos of me are pretty boring... she didn't really want to be photographed for some reason. Yes, I'm a mean mom for making her sit still for a few long-arm photos.

Another fun tag...

My friend Niki tagged me to pick the sixth picture in the sixth file on my computer. I went to my pictures file and picked the sixth folder and the sixth picture from that. This is it....

Here I am in all of my pregnant glory. I was exactly 39 weeks pregnant with my little Bibbins here! It makes me realize how much I want to be pregnant again. Yes, I did say that... and yes, in case you're wondering, I do remember that I carried her to 41 weeks.
Now I tag Heide (and/or Matt), Marisa, Amy W., Mary Beth and Emily. Don't disappoint me people.

Can I just say...

I had a horrible day today...

- I had to deal with angry customers yelling at me all day. Don't shoot the messenger people. I'm only trying to do my job and I'm not going to give in to your bullying to make you happy at the cost of my job.

- I had the worst head ache

- A 20-year-old girl committed suicide this weekend and her family came in around noon to get the suicide note and practically lynched me when I couldn't release the original, only a copy. They swarmed around me and yelled at me and told me the rules were ridiculous and the mom and sister were crying and asking me if I had kids and that her (the victim's) name was Annie too and they demanded to speak with my supervisor who was in a meeting and unavailable but by golly I'd better go get her. Then I cried. And cried and cried. I cried for this grief-stricken family. I cried for this poor girl who didn't think she had any other way out. I just cried. And cried and cried some more. Then I drove home because I was a mess. Then I went back to work and had an even worse head ache. I still feel fuzzy and I'm still sad.

But then I came home to my husband and beautiful, happy, funny baby girl and life made sense again. And I talked to my mom for an hour. That always helps too. Now I'm going to bed.

I really hope tomorrow is better.

Taylor is fascinated by the computer. Every time I'm on it she says, "I want to press the buttons!" or else she asks to watch "Tweet and Elmo" clips aka Sesame Street clips on PBS.org. The other day we were getting ready to go run some errands and as I was finishing getting ready Taylor was running around the upstairs playing. It had been quiet for a little too long, so I went to investigate and found her typing away. She was having a little conversation with herself about the letters on the keyboard- "What's that? R! What's that? F- no E! What's that? W! (which she pronounces DubbweYEW!)"

FF to tonight... Joel was bathing Taylor so I could get ready to go visit someone from church. This is how Joel gets Taylor out of the tub:
Step 1: He puts the towel on the floor.
Step 2: He puts Taylor on the towel.
Step 3: He wraps Taylor up like a little burrito baby and carries her out of the bathroom.
I think it's pretty much the funniest thing I have ever seen and she seems to quite enjoy it too.

Here she is all jammified with combed hair and a new toothbrush. Sometimes she tries to share her toothbrush with us. She doesn't quite understand yet that we don't share toothbrushes. Hmmm.
