Snow day

We are in the midst of a fairly substantial snow storm here in Colorado, especially considering it's still OCTOBER!! The City (who I work for) decided send all non-essential employees home at 1:00 today. I picked up Taylor and the entire way home she kept telling me that she wanted to play in the snow. So, after we returned home and I attempted to have her take a nap (she just sang and talked and called out to me the entire time) I bundled her up and sent her outside to frolic in the snow! As you can see, she quite enjoyed herself!

Pumpkin Patch

Stacey took the kids to a Pumpkin Patch close to our house today, and since I'm off on Fridays Taylor and I decided to meet her and the kiddos there so that Taylor could pick out a pumpkin with her friends.

Here she is the the pumpkin she brought home. I don't think we'll be carving this one, but it's the one she loved!

27 weeks

OK, first of all, yes, I know my belly is huge so don't feel the need to tell me that I look ready to pop. I feel like it's all anyone ever looks at anymore. I also don't know if it's because this is my second pregnancy or what, but it's going by so fast- I'll be 28 weeks on Monday. I guess I'm too busy to think about it or something. Or perhaps I'm sort of in denial over the fact that in 3 short months I'm going to be the mother of 2 kiddos. Don't get me wrong, I am ecstatic and excited and can't wait to meet this baby, but I'm also kind of scared. Well, OK, a lot scared. I'm worried about trying to get anything done. How do you grocery shop with more than 1? I'm worried about trying to get out the door at 6 in the morning with two small kids to make it to work on time. I'm worried about not getting any sleep any more. I know those of you with 3 or 4 or 5 of 6 are probably laughing at me right now thinking 2 is cake, but I AM scared. But I also know I am blessed beyond measure and I am so excited to welcome another wonderful, sweet, spirit into this family.

So I was sick of my hair and decided to get it all chopped off. I think it's another part of pregnancy. Around this time in my pregnancy with Taylor I did the same thing. I wanted something short and easy and fun. I told my mom I'd post some pictures so I roped my friend Julie into taking a couple and as much as I hate posting pictures of myself, here they are...

I think my nesting instinct has set in because I've been feeling crafty lately. I hadn't had the time or energy to sew anything since getting pregnant, so when I found this tutorial for a twirly skirt online, I decided to try it. I think it turned out pretty cute, and it was really easy which = right up my alley. My next project is to make a gender neutral blanket/quilt for our baby.

And, one last thing: this little monkey has been pooping and peeing in her potty all day Friday, and all day today- and even when we were out running errands she told me when she had to pee. I'm so happy. We started potty training before we went to Vermont, but during our trip it was hard to keep up on it because our schedule was so messed up. When we got home, she had basically lost all interest, but this last week it's like it suddenly clicked and she was interested again. Cross your fingers that this means no more diapers for her!! It would be so nice if she was completely potty trained before the new baby arrives!
