Standing in the bathtub, standing in the crib, standing on everything! Not that I want to stop Taylor from learning new things, but now she is standing everywhere. It's been hard on bedtime, especially. Usually I can put her in her crib and she will fall asleep. Well, it's kind of hard to fall asleep when you stand up and try to look out the window. Last night- or technically this morning- at 3:30 am I had to get up and nurse her back to sleep- something I haven't had to do in a while- because she woke up, decided to stand up in her crib, and then cried because she wasn't falling back asleep. It's cute but at 3:30 in the morning... well, I could do without the cuteness at that hour! But since she is so cute, I have to take pictures. Here are some funny photos from her bath tonight.

Happy dancing baby

Taylor is a funny girl with her own little personality. It's such an amazing thing to watch her grow up and see her personality traits start to shine through. Somehow in the last couple of weeks she has learned how to "dance." I don't think she learned it from me or from Joel or from anyone at daycare- she just sort of learned it on her own. She moves her head back and forth when she hears music. It's so cute and funny. I captured a little bit of it on a video of her after she ate her dinner the other night. I also took a video of her sitting down and standing up in her crib. In the first few seconds you can hear her say "hi" to me when I walk into her room. So, here are a few new pictures and a couple videos- mostly for the grandparents but also for anyone else who cares to see.

New niece!

My oldest brother, Bryan, and his wife Michelle welcomed Addyson Lea into their family today! Michelle had only 3 hours of labor and had her (as she did 2 of Addy's 3 big brothers) 100% naturally. Isn't she gorgeous? So now my parents have 3 granddaughters and 8 grandsons. This summer my brother David and his wife Angela are going to make that 9 grandsons! I can't wait to meet these new babies this summer when we are all in Vermont.

I set Taylor in her crib for a few minutes before we finished our bedtime routine so that I could set an outfit out for tomorrow and put some diapers in her diaper holder. She looked at a book for a few minutes and then held onto the railings and pulled herself up. She walked up and down the side of her crib while I took pictures of her. She was so proud of herself! Mom, aren't you glad we had Dad put the mattress down as far as it would go when you guys were here??

Joel took this picture yesterday afternoon with his camera phone so the quality isn't the greatest, but you get the point. I guess she was pulling herself up on things and standing all afternoon. He couldn't wait for me to get home to show me this picture!

Firsts

This weekend I gave Taylor her first ponytail... I think it makes her look so grown-up and it makes me a little sad how fast she is growing. She will be one in a few months. How is that possible? It seems like just yesterday we took this picture. I was 39 weeks pregnant and Taylor came 13 days later.

This afternoon Joel went to pick Taylor up from her nap and he called down to me, "Annie! She's standing in her crib!" so I ran up the stairs to see her. Sure enough, there she was standing up in her crib. I don't think she knew how to sit back down! She also bonked her head on something and got her first bad bruise on her right temple. Last week at daycare she started saying, "Bye!" when someone is leaving and "Uh-oh" when she drops something. AND her top 2 teeth are coming in. Where did my tiny little baby go?
