My friend Jan, who I've been friends with for 17 years (man I'm old), came up from Denver last night to do her taxes. We had fun as always and Taylor just loved her. I think Taylor might be starting to get her top teeth. Her nose has been running and she hasn't been sleeping great. Or maybe she just has a cold.... who knows. But even so she is still so happy. While my parents were here she started doing the army crawl so now she rolls then army crawls then rolls. I am pretty impressed by how fast she is sometimes. Her daycare lady, Stacey, told me that if she turns her back for one second Taylor is 2 rooms away. It's so cute though she can pretty much entertain herself. She's such a fun, happy, curious, baby.

The love of grandparents...

Here are a few photos from my mom and dad's visit. It was so nice to have them around and I miss them horribly as do Joel and Taylor. My dad, miracle worker that he is, even managed to fix our garage door that I devastated! Seeing Taylor interact with them made me want to move home to Vermont even more. I love how much my parents love Taylor!

My parents are visiting us right now! Actually, they are going back and forth from here to Breckenridge because my mom has a conference for work there this week so they are not here at this exact moment. My dad flew in from Arizona (where he had been on business) on Friday afternoon and then he and Taylor and I went to pick my mom up from the airport on Saturday. I love having my parents here.... life just seems better with them around. Probably because it is. So my mom's conference is sort of structured around skiing so Monday they had class, skied and then went back to class. Tuesday their class got out at 10:30 and was out until Wednesday at 4:00 so they drove up here and spent the night with us and then left yesterday after lunch to go back to the class. Today she had class in the morning, they are skiing right now, and then class again tonight. She will be done with class tomorrow morning and they will drive back up here Friday and spend all day Saturday with us and then they have to fly home on Sunday. I will be really sad to see them go but I am happy that they were able to visit. I took a bunch of pictures of Taylor with them but they were with my dad's camera so I will have to wait until he is back here to post pictures. Taylor LOVES her grandma and grandpa Bedell. She gives my mom kisses ALL the time. It is so cute. I think being in daycare makes her less scared of people who she doesn't see all the time which is great for my parents since they live in Vermont and hardly ever get to see her. I took this week off of work and it has been SOOOOOOOOO wonderful to get to spend so much time with my baby girl. She makes me laugh all the time. She rolls everywhere. I don't know if she will ever crawl because she is such an efficient roller. It's so funny.... she puts her hands together, lifts her head up so she doesn't bonk her head, and rolls. She can pretty much get wherever she needs to go. If she isn't going the right direction, she scoots until she is heading the direction she wants to roll in and then she takes off. I will have to take a video of it because it's so funny. She followed me from the living room, into the kitchen and then into our laundry room the other day. Here are a few snap shots from this morning. She was rolling around her room, reading books, and trying to terrorize the cat. I will post some of her with my parents later and I will also try to get a video of her rolling....


OH, and one side note- to those of you who are interested in photography- (Harold? Emily? Kelsey?)- my sister-in-law Rachelle is an excellent photographer and she has a photography blog where she has weekly challenges and posts some of her stunning pictures. Plus there are pictures of her and my brother's beautiful children. She is really an inspiration to me. It seems like every picture she takes is artistic. I am constantly in awe of her talent! Sentiments

It was about a year ago when I was pregnant with Taylor and had my first ultrasound. I really wanted to find out her sex because I am sort of neurotic and I wanted to be able to plan her room and her clothes and everything. The first ultrasound I had she was too active for the ultrasound technician to determine her sex so I was a little disappointed but happy, of course, that everything looked normal and that we were having a healthy baby. A few weeks later I was having some severe pain in my left abdominal region so my doctor sent me in for an ultrasound to see if they could determine what was going on. They couldn't see what was wrong with me but Taylor had her legs over her head so it was pretty obvious that I was having a girl. I was in shock... at the time my brothers had 3 boys, 2 boys, and a boy and a girl respectively so my family was used to having boys. I was ecstatic though! Girls are so much fun! Today I put Taylor in an outfit that I bought when I was barely pregnant- long before I knew I was having a girl in the hopes that I was having a girl!! I had to take some pictures of her so here are a few....

New tricks and new pictures

I have been so busy I haven't posted any new pictures for a couple of weeks! My friend Jan came to visit on Thursday which was so much fun as always. She spent the night and we spent all day Friday just having fun. I needed that!! I finished our taxes on Friday night and then was busy trying to do laundry and clean the house and entertian my baby all day Saturday. I think that every new stage Taylor goes through is so cute and so much fun. She has been saying "Da Da" for a while now but Joel doesn't believe that she knows what she's saying. Although when I ask her, "Where's Da Da?" She looks around the room until she sees Joel and then she says Da Da!! Her new trick this week is to wave and say, "HI!" It is SO cute. She was waving and saying hi to some women at church today and they just thought it was so funny. I tried to get her to do her tricks on camera but didn't have too much luck. I posted one where you can kind of hear her say hi and then the other one she is bouncing in her bouncer and saying Da Da.

Bedtime antics

We have a bedtime and nap time routine. At night, Taylor has dinner, has a bath, gets in her jammies, we read a few books and then I sing "Lullaby" to her as she nurses. Sometimes she falls asleep but other times she is still wired and just wants to play so I have to put her in her crib and let her put herself to sleep. She knows the routine so sometimes she tries to pull the, "I'm not tired! I am happy!" card on me until I walk away and then she gets really mad and falls asleep in about 5 minutes. The other night she was being so funny in her crib- laughing, making noises and rolling around so I had to take a few pictures and a video. The video is kind of long- around 3 minutes... I know the grandparents will enjoy it!

I also got my hair cut on Monday. I needed something fast and easy so off it came!!

Teeth!

Here's a few pictures of Taylor being her cute self from yesterday and today. When we feed her solids and wipe her face, she wants to suck on the cloth we wipe her face with. You can kind of see her teeth in one of the close-ups of her face. I also took a video to try and get her to show her teeth so my mom could see but she got pretty annoyed at me. She was tired so I can't blame her. :)

Here are some pictures of Taylor I took tonight before she went to bed. At least when I do stupid things (see story below) I have this cute face to cheer me up! OH, and her first little tooth popped up the other day! I think the second one is coming in right next to it! My baby is teething!!!!!

I have been singing this John Gorka song in my head all day today... it's pretty much my theme song. It goes, "Sometimes I'm an idiot, many of you know that by now. Sometimes I am not, but this is not as clear somehow. So I go about my work making my mistakes out loud. Maybe everybody's failures are in earshot of the crowd. Yes I am in trouble again and it's gone from bad to worse. Maybe that's just the shape of the world I'm in!" Do you ever have days where you feel like a complete and utter idiot? Well, let me just tell you, yesterday was one of those days. I came home from work and pulled in our garage. I was on the phone with my friend Julie so I guess I may have been a bit distracted. I pushed the close button and suddenly heard this awful CRUNCH! I screamed and looked our garage door seriously looked like an upside down V. Picture it.... /\ and in the middle was my car. I hadn't pulled forward enough and my bumper was too high to set off the sensor so the garage door closed on the bumper. I ran in the house and yelled to Joel that I just broke the garage door. Now, I think you can tell a lot about a person from how they act when an accident happens. Joel was completely calm. He had me pull forward and pretty much got our door working again. I just kept saying, "I am such an idiot. I can't believe I did that!" I kept asking him if he was mad at me and he just said, "It's not that bad!" Then I asked him if he was going to yell at me because I know that if he had been the one to do that I would be livid and not so calm. He just joked around and said, "Yes, I am going to go put on a yellow wife-beater tank top and some hammer pants and give you a beating." What a good boy he is. Luckily my parents are coming to visit next month so we will have my dad take a look at it. After Joel worked on it you really can't tell that anything ever happened but we will have my dad look at it anyway since my dad can pretty much fix anything! What a fiasco! I hate making stupid mistakes!!!!
